Green Bay Packers Acquire Running Back Knile Davis From Chiefs
The Kansas City Star has confirmed that the Kansas City Chiefs traded backup running back Knile Davis to the Green Bay Packers in exchange for a late conditional draft pick.
The Green Bay Packers running back core has been heavily tampered with injuries in recent weeks. Both of the Packers running backs Eddie Lacy and James Starks are injured. Lacy is still going and playing injured as he is battling an ankle and backup running back James Starks just underwent surgery on his knee and there is no timetable for his return.
The addition of Knile Davis for the Packers will help the team the remainder of the year but it looks like he will have to wait till next week to get snaps. The Green Bay Packers this week are currently on an short-week as they are set to take on the Chicago Bears on Thursday Night Football. Expect the Green Bay Packers to continue to role with Ty Montgomery as their backup for this week behind Eddie Lacy and then the following week Davis will be more ready then where he was this week.
